The Urbanist School is an education program that equips the next generation of urbanists with practical and theoretical skills to work across disciplines. Cities are increasingly complex and plural; the school runs short workshops to multi-week intensive courses that combine fieldwork, hands-on training, and critical reflection so participants can co-create more resilient, inclusive urban futures.
So far, the Urbanist School has explored cities through sound, rhythm, and data - from mapping Cairo’s soundscapes with GIS, to experimenting with “sonic fiction” across global cities, to analyzing the everyday rhythms of Tokyo. Each edition tests new tools and perspectives for sensing and understanding urban life.
